756) City by the Sea. There were about ten too many subplots going in this so it felt incomplete at the end. It would have made an excellent TV series like The Wire or Boomtown though since there was a lot of potential with the characters and their stories. Oh well.

757) The Serpent and the Rainbow. This is supposed to be based on a true story but I don't know how much of it was poetic license and how much actually happened. Either way, Voodoo is messed up man.

758) Necronomicon: Book of the Dead. Maybe if they took the budget and resources used to make three short stories into three short films with a lame-o "Lovecraft snuck into a monk's library and got his stories straight from the Necronomicon AND killed a monster" thread tying them together and made just one of them into a feature length film it would have been good. As it is, weak.

759) Pieces of April. Patricia Clarkson earned that emmy nomination. Funny characters and scripting, sweet and poignant ending. I really liked it.

759 down, 241 to go.

- Bama is back in the top ten after their drubbing of Florida yesterday and the world is starting to make sense again. I'm not entirely sure how they are still behind a 3-1 Tennessee team in the Coaches poll but give it three weeks and they'll see the error of their ways. Looking at those rankings, I can easily see four teams going undefeated again this year. I still think Notre Dame will upset USC but that's a long shot, Va. Tech could finish the rest of their schedule with only Miami to stop them in the regular season (which is doubtful since they own the 'Canes these days) and probably FSU in the ACC championship game, Texas could realize Mack Brown is their coach any day now but pinning your hopes on OU, Texas Tech and A&M are risky propositions at best, and even though Florida State got off to a shaky start and still has to beat Florida they could make it to the ACC championship game undefeated and possibly pull out a win over (I'm assuming) Va. Tech. So that leaves the very real possibility of USC, Texas, Bama, and Va. Tech ending their seasons undefeated and the same mess we were in last year with Bama being the low man on the totem pole and whipping hell out of whoever wins the Big East when the final rankings come out. Damn it!

- Note to self: Cancel moving to Seattle plan.

I was 11 years old when The Serpent and the Rainbow was released and it scared the piss out of me.

Bama's in the Top 10. That's been a long time coming. I still hope we don't believe our hype. They've gone from unranked to #7 in 3 weeks. I just hope they're focusing on Ole Miss and not looking ahead to Tennessee.
