935) Midnight Cowboy. Movies from the late 60s like this that are considered classic and essential and all that just never live up to the hype for me. Yeah, it was good, but I'm just not a real fan of that era's output.
936) King Kong. Yes. Seriously. For my money no director working today can match Jackson in his ability to take a huge spectacle of a special effects movie and make you love it for the story and the characters/acting.

I haven't seen Midnight Cowboy yet and I agree with the assessment of the letdown from the classics.
Faith No More covered the theme song to the movie though, and that was awesome
