Blazer Names to Know: #98 Jermaine McElveen

On the other end of the defensive line is #98 Jermaine McElveen. McElveen has plenty of experience, starting right away in 2003 and earning a spot on the Rivals.com Freshman All America team and the C-USA All-Freshman team. Starting in 2004 he began splitting time with #46 David Miller, racking up 29 tackles including 18 stops, 5 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks while playing in all twelve games. In 2005 he again split starting duties with Miller, playing in ten games and starting the final two contests. He concluded the season with 26 tackles with 4 for loss and two sacks. He also blocked a punt on special teams in the win over Rice and recorded an interception in the win over UTEP. While those aren't necessarily McSwain numbers, he's been a solid contributor to the defense's depth at the end position and is currently listed as the starter on the 2006 depth chart.
